Zelevate
Zelevate: Claude-Powered Agents Cut Manual Resume Screening by ~75%
Codemonk designed and built Zelevate's hiring platform end-to-end — including three Claude-powered agent systems that understand candidates, run consistent interviews, and match people to the right roles — now live in production across all three of Zelevate's hiring businesses.

The Challenge
Tech hiring in India runs on manual, low-signal work at every stage of the funnel: recruiters screening thousands of resumes by hand, interviews that vary wildly in consistency depending on who's conducting them, and candidate-to-role matching done on gut feel rather than structured signal. Zelevate set out to fix this — but its business model made the problem harder than a single product could solve. Zelevate runs three distinct hiring offerings (Interview-as-a-Service, Recruit Assist, and Zelevate Handpicked), each needing the same core capability underneath: source candidates across in-demand stacks, evaluate them consistently, and hand employers only the candidates worth their time.
Before this platform existed, that meant three businesses' worth of spreadsheets, disconnected interview coordination, and manual judgment calls about which employer relationships were actually active. None of it scaled past a handful of concurrent searches, and none of it gave Zelevate's leadership a reliable, real-time read on their funnel.
The Approach
Codemonk was engaged to design and build Zelevate's entire product from the ground up — not a single feature bolted onto existing tooling. Two decisions shaped the build. First, a single data model organized around the four personas actually moving through the system — Employer, Candidate, Interviewer, and Recruiter — so all three of Zelevate's business lines could run on shared infrastructure instead of three parallel codebases, with every funnel stage (sourced → interviewed → qualified → submitted → offered → onboarded) queryable from day one rather than living in someone's head.
Second, rather than treating AI as a single bolt-on feature, Codemonk broke the manual-effort problem into three purpose-built agent systems, each targeting a distinct point of friction: understanding candidates, running the interview itself, and matching the outcome to open roles. These were developed using Claude Code and deployed to production on the Claude API via AWS Bedrock, giving Zelevate an enterprise-grade path for handling candidate data at scale.
The Solution
Codemonk built Zelevate's core platform and the AI systems running inside it:
Platform: the employer dashboard, the candidate-facing portal and application flow, and the internal tooling recruiters and interviewers use to move candidates through evaluation — plus the analytics layer (Metabase dashboards, Mixpanel instrumentation, Microsoft Clarity for behavioral insight) giving Zelevate's team live visibility into metrics like qualified-to-sourced ratio, interview completion rate, and per-position submission volume.
AI agent systems, built with Claude Code and running in production on the Claude API via AWS Bedrock:
- Candidate Understanding — parses resume data end-to-end into complete, structured candidate profiles.
- Interview Intelligence — guides interviewers toward a consistent, effective process, then analyzes post-interview transcripts to generate automated, scored candidate reports.
- Matching Engine — matches candidates to the right job opportunities using the structured profile and interview signal the first two systems produce.
Every candidate is tracked against a single record from first contact through onboarding, regardless of which of Zelevate's three business lines they entered through.
The Impact
The platform is live and in continuous production use as Zelevate's operational backbone. The Candidate Understanding module alone cuts manual recruiter effort on resume screening by approximately 75% — turning what was hours of manual reading per role into a structured profile generated automatically. Because all three of Zelevate's business models run on the same system, the company offers employers Interview-as-a-Service, Recruit Assist, or a fully outsourced Handpicked hiring model without maintaining three separate pieces of software.
At current scale, the platform holds 25k+ sourced candidates — 96.5% with verified contact details, a reusable pool Zelevate can re-engage for new roles without sourcing from scratch — and has run 4k+ candidates through structured interviews, qualifying 1k+ for submission to client roles. Zelevate's leadership can see funnel health and employer engagement in a dashboard instead of asking around.
